WOW!

My dad took this awesome picture the other night when the fire fighters were fighting the fire at Judy Mathew's. He did some editing and made this great photo. It looks like something a professional would do, huh? I thought it was so good that I had to share it with all of you.

recount

I just got an overnight package from the Secretary of States office. Our office has to do a recount of the Democratic Attorney General race that was in August. This just really ticks me off. Why waste taxpayers dollars just because you lost a race. Granted it was less than 1% difference, but you lost so get over it and go on. And maybe if I was that person that lost and had the chance of having a recount and it could make a difference I may feel differently. But, as of right now I think it is a waste of time and money! I will do my job and do it right but I am still going to complain about it:)

On another note....

my parents received an email today from my sister in law that lives in Florida. Her parents live in Springfield, MO and are both not doing very good health wise. They have asked for us to keep them in their prayers so I am now asking you to say an extra prayer for them. Thanks.

What a Crock!!

Thanks Anjee for sharing this with me. I can not believe that a league would do this to a child that is good at what he does. What is this world coming to? I know if this was my child I would be putting up a great big fight!

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player — too good, it turns out.
Parents of some opposing players say Jericho Scott's 40 mph fastball is too intimidating. (Douglas Healey / Associated Press)
The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, packed its gear and left, his coach said.
Officials for the three-year-old league, which has eight teams and about 100 players, said they will disband Jericho's team, redistributing its players among other squads, and offered to refund $50 sign-up fees to anyone who asks for it. They say Jericho's coach, Wilfred Vidro, has resigned.
But Vidro says he didn't quit and the team refuses to disband. Players and parents held a protest at the league's field on Saturday urging the league to let Jericho pitch.
"He's never hurt any one," Vidro said. "He's on target all the time. How can you punish a kid for being too good?"
The controversy bothers Jericho, who says he misses pitching.
"I feel sad," he said. "I feel like it's all my fault nobody could play."
Jericho's coach and parents say the boy is being unfairly targeted because he turned down an invitation to join the defending league champion, which is sponsored by an employer of one of the league's administrators.
Jericho instead joined a team sponsored by Will Power Fitness. The team was 8-0 and on its way to the playoffs when Jericho was banned from pitching.
"I think it's discouraging when you're telling a 9-year-old you're too good at something," said his mother, Nicole Scott. "The whole objective in life is to find something you're good at and stick with it. I'd rather he spend all his time on the baseball field than idolizing someone standing on the street corner."
League attorney Peter Noble says the only factor in banning Jericho from the mound is his pitches are just too fast.
"He is a very skilled player, a very hard thrower," Noble said. "There are a lot of beginners. This is not a high-powered league. This is a developmental league whose main purpose is to promote the sport."
Noble acknowledged that Jericho had not beaned any batters in the co-ed league of 8- to 10-year-olds, but say parents expressed safety concerns.
"Facing that kind of speed" is frightening for beginning players, Noble said.
League officials say they first told Vidro that the boy could not pitch after a game on Aug. 13. Jericho played second base the next game on Aug. 16. But when he took the mound Wednesday, the other team walked off and a forfeit was called.
League officials say Jericho's mother became irate, threatening them and vowing to get the league shut down.
"I have never seen behavior of a parent like the behavior Jericho's mother exhibited Wednesday night," Noble said.
Scott denies threatening any one, but said she did call the police.
League officials suggested that Jericho play other positions, or pitch against older players or in a different league.
Local attorney John Williams was planning to meet with Jericho's parents Monday to discuss legal options.
"You don't have to be learned in the law to know in your heart that it's wrong," he said. "Now you have to be punished because you excel at something?"

target practice

braxton had target practice last night. he is getting really frustrated with his chickens not laying very many eggs. he was told that the roosters were probably eating them. well he had 4 roosters yesterday morning and now he has NONE! i guess we will see tonight if there are any more eggs than there have been in the past several weekes.

jared had to take his dog to the vet yesterday b/c it was horse. he called around sunday night to some friends trying to figure out what the problem with him was. i told him that the dog was going thru puberty. he took her to the vet and guess what the vet told him.... puberty? nope, i was wrong. something called creosote. not sure what that is but it is on an old pole that is by the dogs house. the dog has been licking on it and it has caused blisters in its throat. yuck! i am sure jared would like for me to lick on that pole so i would become horse. fat chance in that happening.

i got an email today from bronson. he took a picture for me and had my dad send it to me and he told me he loved me. he is such a sweet kid. it is so fun to get things like that from your kids. someday they will be too old to do such sweet things. maybe by then i will have grandkids that will do it for me.

didn't he do a good job taking this picture? i think my dad is rubbing of on him. he loves to take pictures and now he has my kids loving it too.

2 out of 3

Well that is how many kids we have sleeping in their rooms now. I think it was harder on Jared than it was on the boys. Saturday night Braxton slept in his room. When he woke up he said that wasn't too bad. So last night him and Bronson both slept in there. I hope it lasts. Now all we have to do is get Braylon in his room. Good luck with that!

It was a wild and crazy week/weekend. I will take you day by day~

Wednesday- We went to Memphis and got everything set up for Antique Days.

Thursday- Went to Memphis to work our booth. We had a duck pond, ring toss to win 2 liter bottles of pop and sno cones. We had a great turnout. I had to judge the baby contest. It was fun!

Friday- Headed to Memphis to drop the boys off. Then went to Kahoka to Cecil's visitation. Back to Memphis and worked! The boys and I ended up staying at the Buford's. Jared thought he needed to go home.

Saturday- Got up and was getting ready to go to Kahoka for Cecil's funeral. Jared was going to meet me at the gas station. BUT in Memphis when they have their parade they think they need to block off every road. I was trapped! I finally went around some cones and drove in someones yard to get out. We were almost late to the funeral due to me being trapped and getting behind idiots driving 40mph. Headed back to Memphis to work the booth again. The boys played, worked, played, played, worked. They found a baby rabbit that they thought was pretty cool too. Bronson got yelled at by some lady b/c he threw/dropped the baby rabbit on the ground. She yelled "what is wrong with you?" and his reply was "what are you looking at you dirty ole skank?" Very funny! I don't know where he would get his mouthiness from. I know he shouldn't have said that but we have taught our kids to stand up for themselves. We had a great fundraiser! We cleared $1375.00. We are hoping to do some more fundraisers.

Sunday- Went back to Memphis to clean everything up and went to a BBQ at Jared's aunt and uncles house. He didn't go, just me and the boys! We had a really good time seeing everyone. When we got back from Memphis my mom called and wanted me to come by and see my grandma Margie. This is what I saw when I got to her house.

She found these baseball pants at the Dollar store. She even got a real sparkly tattoo on her arm. She did that b/c Braxton and Bronson both got tattoos and they thought she needed to get one. Well she did! The boys were so funny when they saw her. They couldn't believe she was dressed like that! I love that she has such a great sense of humor and the boys love it too.
