friends

why do people get all pissy and not wanna be your friend over the pettiest little things? i thought voicing your opinion was your right? i don't go getting rid of my "friends" b/c they made a comment i didn't agree with.....

SNOW

I am not ready for this snow. Just when you think it is spring time it decides to snow again! I have no big plans for the weekend (woo hoo) and plan on lounging around and reading a book or two. Hope everyone stays safe this weekend and enjoy our, HOPEFULLY, last snow!!! I have lots of pictures to share next week, so stay tuned......

braxton, my 4th grader, got second place overall in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades in a drawing contest. he won a $50 savings bond. here is a picture of what he drew and then a picture of him is below it. i couldn't just post his drawing! way to go Braxton!

The party

The party was a hit! Braylon got lots of goodies and LOVED everything he got. He got towboy boots, bike, clothes, tows, horses, truck and trailer, barn, gates, log cabin w/ hunting guys, books, money, hat, fishing pole and goodies and more I am sure. He was a big boy and told everyone thank you when prompted to and played really hard with everything!

3 years ago today......

Braylon Alan Shaw entered the world at 8:11 a.m. weighing in at 7 lbs 14 ounces and was 21 inches long!

We did not know what we were having so when they told us that it was a boy, we were just as excited as we would have been had he been our first boy! I had told myself during the pregnancy that after 2 boys, that this one would be a boy too. He was so cute and was welcomed by 2 big brothers and lots of family and friends.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BABY! We are having a party tonight and he is having cupcakes today at the babysitters. I am so excited for him to get all of his presents. He is getting everything he asked for and more....

I am so OVERWHELMED! Between working on our local league stuff, the big league stuff and traveling team stuff, I am about to go CRAZY!!!

i was teasing braylon last night and told him that he had a carrot growing in his ear. so he showed his dad and then jared told him he had a watermelon growing in the other one. it must have really bothered him b/c he kept wanting me to get the carrot out. so finally i went to the fridge and got a carrot out and acted like i pulled it out of his ear. he was in awe! he kept asking how it got in there and kept wanting us to get the watermelon out of the other one. so here he is with the carrot he grew in his ear. when he got up this morning he said, "mommy, me don't like carrots in my ear". poor little boy:)

Did you know....

.....that once you get a dog fixed (female) that you can't put them in with a male dog b/c if they are in heat they could still get tied up and tear the female up?

i didn't know this.
never really thought about it though.
it does make sense.

frustrating

you know, i often wonder why people like to complain about "everything".

we had a ball meeting yesterday and it seemed like every time i turned around someone was complaining. but these people that like to complain never want to be the one to step up and be in charge! they just like to be the one in charge of complaining.

it seems like every year brings more parents trying to pick their childs coach. they don't want them on this persons team b/c they don't like the coach or they don't want them on this team b/c they don't like the kids. it just gets so frustrating that the parents are trying to tell us what to do.

if we did what every parent wanted to do then there would be stacked teams and then teams with hardly anyone on them. that is just not fair to the kids. these parents are thinking about what they want, what they think is best and not what the kids want. they may say that the child wants this or that, but in reality it is what "they" want. they love to complain about every coach their child has but never sign up to coach!

they threaten you with, "well if my kid has to be on that coaches team, then they just won't play". ok, so if we do what they want then they will be throwing their weight around all the time and if we don't do what they want, then we could lose kids because of their parents.

i know that everyone would like for their child to be on the ideal team or have the ideal coach. but that just doesn't always happen. i am just tired of people coming up to me and saying, "i really don't want my child on this or that team, i want them to have this coach or i would like for them to play up b/c of some stupid reason!" if they want all this for their child then they just need to step up to the plate (no pun intended) and coach or be a board member!!!

i know this goes the same for schools and teachers. yes, i would like to have a certain teacher some years but i am not going to dwell on it and throw a fit b/c they didn't get that teacher. i have teacher friends and i am not going to make it their job to make sure my child gets a certain teacher or expect them to get my child the teacher i want for them. it isn't fair to them to have to try and do what i want. they will get who they get, teacher or coach. PERIOD!!!

if you want to control what teacher or coach you get then i suggest you either become a teacher or coach, then you can get the perks!!

food for thought: these parents say that their child won't play if they get a certain coach, so do you think they would pull their child out of school if they didn't get the teacher they wanted?

YEP, that is a puddle of PEE!! i was getting gas last night and when i turn to look at what the kids are doing, braylon is out of the van peeing right by the pumps! when a boys gotta go, they gotta go! so once i got him back into his seat i had to take a picture of him. he was hiding his face b/c he thought he was in trouble. sorry for the sun on his face.

LOST

this morning when i got to curves i was digging in my purse to find my wallet. you know that thing that has checks, debit card, drivers license, over $200 and everything else you can imagine. well it wasn't there.

hmmm, wonder where i put that. so i call jared. "did you get my wallet out of my purse last night when you went to the store?" NO, it wasn't in there. Oh thanks for telling me! my purse had dumped at the ball game last night and braylon had been in it, so lord only knows where it was.

as i was leaving curves i called the school, no answer! so i stop by, there is no one in the office yet. so i went into the gym to see if happened to be where i had sat. DARK! so i thought well, i will just have to feel my way around on the bleachers. but as i start walking two lights come on. i looked behind me to see who had turned them on. NO ONE! magical! as i kept walking more lights kept coming on. now that was cool! so i go up on the bleachers and get on my hands and knees and WA LAH, there it is! whew!!!

didn't those janitors do a good job cleaning the bleachers last night?

Time Change

What does the future hold?

jared and i were discussing our kids and their futures the other night.

it is fun to wonder and guess what they will be like, what sports they will play, kind of cars they will drive and girls they will date.

jared and i both think that the boys will play all sports. not sure on braylon yet because he is so small, but we think and hope he will:)

jared and i both think that braxton will want a truck when he turns 16 and that bronson will want a mustang. every time we see a mustang bronson is in ahhh. he can pick one out of anywhere.

we think that braxton will be low key and won't want to get into much trouble.
bronson we think will be a social bug and will be "trying" us every chance he gets. braylon we think will be hard headed and won't want to listen to what we have to say, whether he thinks we are right or wrong.

we really wonder what they will do for a living. jared thinks that braxton will go to college for sure, but thinks bronson will hate school and want to go straight to work after high school. i on the other hand think bronson will love school and will go to college. time will tell for braylon:) he is just to little still to see what we think.

i think that braxton will be the one that will stick with one girlfriend as long as he can. bronson on the other hand, i think he will jump from one to the next as much as he can. he is such a charmer and can't stick to the same thing for long.

it is so much fun to "wonder". only time will tell if jared and i are even close! it will be great to look back on this blog to see what we thought.

The athelete/rock stars

friday was braxton's first basketball game. they got beat reallllly bad. at least they didn't get skunked. i think it was like 31-12 or something like that. braxton did really good. he made i think 5 points.

then we bought rock band for the wii. below is the shaw rock band. i have a super funny video of jared, but it won't upload. which is really frustrating! it is loads of fun. anyone looking to have some fun, needs to come by and rock with us:)

all in all it was a great weekend! we are going to be super busy for the next several weeks. i am going to enjoy it though because someday we will be all alone and complaining b/c we have nothing to do.
