i love little sweet conversations like this!

what is your love language?

Jared and I have such different love languages. His is physical touch (imagine that!) and my least favorite love language is physical touch. So somehow, someway we have to meet in the middle. He wants to touch me I want him to do this or that for me. So I did some researching on MEN/WOMEN and understanding each other. So for now this is what i have come up with.

*****A kiss most likely causes the female new brain cognitive centers to think about the romantic beauty of the moment and significance of the relationship at this point. The male new brain is most likely thinking about how good the female would look and feel naked! IMAGINE THAT!

*****Women like kissing before, during, and after sex. Men use it to get sex then like to go to sleep!

What follows the kissing?
Kissing for females is not only great fun for the body but also it stimulates the mind with an increased feeling of emotional and physical closeness. For women, kissing good-feelings start in the upper body and work down more slowly than men. This fits nicely with the female's DNA need for creation of a family and protection for her and offspring. For most women, kissing is the most stimulating physical activity short of intercourse. In the mean time the man is still thinking about how great she would look and feel naked. To most men, kissing is upper persuasion for a lower invasion.

So then I decided to take the Love Language Quiz to see what my love language is. I have done this before and it is still the same. So here are my results.

Test Results:
Language
Score

20%
Words of Affirmation
6 of the 30 questions

23%
Quality Time
7 of the 30 questions

13%
Receiving Gifts
4 of the 30 questions

37%
Acts of Service
11 of the 30 questions

7%
Physical Touch
2 of the 30 questions

How to Interpret Your Profile Score
Your highest score indicates your primary love language. Your second highest score indicates your secondary love language. If two scores are identical, you are bi-lingual(you have two Primary love languages). If the scores of your primary language and your secondary language are close(for example, 10 and 9 respectively), it indicates both are important to you. The highest possible score for any one love language is 12. Having a clear picture of your primary and secondary love languages will explain much of your past behavior. Think back over the past and ask yourself, "What have I most often requested of my spouse?" Chances are your answer will lie within the scope of your primary and secondary love languages. You have been requesting that which would meet your deepest need for emotional love. Your requests, however, might have come across as nagging or criticizing and thus drove your spouse away.

So as you can see your highest possible score on one love language is 12 and i got an 11 on "acts of service".

go here to see what your love language is.

i have so much more on this topic. but i need to get it all straight in my head before i blog about it.

so leave me a comment and tell me what your results were on the love language test!

Splish, Splash

I'm Here, really I am!!!
This last week has been really crazy! Last Friday Andrea and I went swimming with the little kindergartners on their field trip. It was a ball. Here are some great pictures of Bronson at the pool. The kids got to swim for 2 hours. There were around 40 little ones and about a 10 adults. So we really had to keep our eyes on them.

Here is Bronson and Emma. Don't they look so cute? A couple of years ago I scrapbooked a page with these two holding hands and I put on the page, Class of 2022, Cutest Couple! Won't they be the cutest couple that class will ever see? They are very close and I am sure one day when they get older (a lot older), they will look at each other more like siblings than as girl/boyfriend.

Father's day brought some very warm temps and lots of sun. I bought a tube of 500 water balloons to take with us to some friends house for a bbq. It took us an hour or more to fill up 400 of those balloons. We filled a little kiddy pool with all of them and then decided to have a water fight, with balloons and water guns and then the guys decided to fill up coolers and the kiddy pool. It was a great time. As you can see on everyone's faces there was a lot of laughter! It took us FIVE minutes to destroy those 400 balloons!

braxton getting ready to get nailed by norm and little did norm know that melanie was right behind him to get him.

jared and norm laughing after norm chased jared down. and then jared fell! don't those boots and cutoff carhartt shorts look sexy?

jared and norm getting michelle.

jared and norm ganging up on braxton

bronson with the water gun.

WOWZA!! bet that was cold.....
poor little braylon getting picked on by his dad.

i forgot to take a picture of all the balloons before we started.

Cheaper Than Therapy
Here is a picture of my grandma with 2 of my boys. She is a hoot! Last year she wanted to surprise the kids and dress up as a baseball player. She even put on a tatoo:) My kids absolutely adore her. She isn't feeling the greatest these past few weeks. She really needs prayers to help heal her pain. So please add her to your prayer list.

All that hard work has paid off

last year jared and i worked our little buttocks' off working on our landscaping. we planted 6 bushes and 3 flowering plants, put in i don't know how many stones, black paper and loads and loads and loads of river rock. it looked so nice when we got done. in the fall i planted some seeds. i can't for the life of me remember what i planted, but they are coming up now. i was so excited to see the green poking through the ground awhile back. then last night i noticed a bud on one of them and then at 6:00 this morning look what i saw, A YELLOW LILY BLOOMED OUT!!! if you know me well enough, you know i can't keep anything alive so as long as it can come and go by its self every year and not require me to take care of it, then it will live!

these are the flowering plants that i planted last year. they have been green all along and very small and then KABAM! they got HUGE and sprouted lots of color, and purple color i may add.

aren't they beautiful?!
can you tell the picture is kind of foggy? that is b/c this morning it was terribly foggy when i took that picture. i think it adds a little bit of character to the picture, don't you?

Who let the Dogs Out?

the other night i sat straight up in bed.

i could have swore that i heard someone yell.

but then again, maybe not.

maybe i was just dreaming.

so i lay back down.

then all of a sudden i hear a dog barking, LOUDLY!

it was my husband!

barking in his sleep.

i yell, "JARED, JARED".

finally after i kick him he wakes up and i say, "what are you doing?"

he said "sleeping"

i said, "you were barking like a dog"
i guess the yelling that i heard was him yelling "GET EM"

he just started dying laughing!

he was dreaming that he was yelling at a window peeker.

he chased the window peeker through the woods, BARKING like a dog!

so this my lovelies, is what the window peeker got a shot of!
(i know, don't i look good standing up there?)

and this is what the window peekers looked like!
so if you see them, you might tell them that jared is out sniffing the ground and barking on their trail and that he will find them!

Grandparents

Today our message at Church got my mind a rollin'.

I wish my Grandparents would......

some of the things that they touched on really hit home.

they talked about the different names that grandkids have for their grandparents. and i love how unique some names are. when braxton was little he started calling my dad, his grandpa, DA. i think he called him this because he always heard me calling him dad. and then he called the grandma's, GRANDMOM. he called jared's dad, GRAMPSIE. these names have stuck and when we had the two other boys they have kept the trend going and call them the same thing. i love how our names are different from others, which i think makes it that more special.

everyone has those grandparents that are not very involved in their lives and then their are the grandparents that are there every step of the way.

fortunately we have some great grandparents for our kids. they follow the boys to all of their ball games and any other activity that they are involved in.

i am so glad that my kids are so close to my parents. someday they will have so many memories to look back on.

but then on the other note it makes me stop and think that i should be spending more time with my grandparents. both of my grandmas are in their 80's and both have some health issues. when i was first married and had braxton, we would go by my grandma lorene's every morning before i took him to daycare and before i went to work. we would eat breakfast there and just visit. then every night after work we would go by my grandma margie's and visit with her and my grandpa, when he was alive. as our lives have gotten busier, had more kids and my job hours have changed, i don't get by to see them like i would like. i should take more time and just do it. i am too busy rushing here and there and not taking the time to spend with them. my kids go by and see my grandma margie everyday because they spend every day with my dad.

so right here, right now, i am praying that God will help me to see that I need to slow down and take a few more minutes to enjoy my grandma's!

Small towns

i love living in a small town! today bronson wanted to walk to my dad's after he got off the bus. so i let him. i watched him as he waited for cars to cross the road. a friend of mine pulled over by him to let him go across the road and then followed him to my parents house to make sure he made it ok. i could have watched from the sidewalk at my work
and braxton was walking to meet him halfway
and it was only 3 blocks
BUT it was still great to know that someone was following him and making sure he made it.

so thank you cindy!

She just couldn't wait....

Help me welcome Matyson Nicole Buford to the world!
She weighed 8lbs 11 ounces and was 21 inches long.
She was born at 5:28 am on June 4, 2009.

Amy is one of my best friends. She has had some struggles with this pregnancy and they were shocked when they found out they were having a girl to add to the mix of 4 boys! She was scheduled to have a c-section tomorrow at 8 but little miss Matyson had other plans. Amy wasn't feeling too great last night at the ball game and was a little grouchy. I told her that she was ready to have this baby and it was just her hormones. So imagine my surprise when she texted me at 4:00 am to tell me that she was at the hospital and they were taking the baby at 5 b/c she had gone into labor. I rushed around and got there at 5! So I was there to help welcome her into the world. I also got to spoil her rotten and hog her for quite awhile. I just love babies!

Congrats to Matt and Amy and family!
