Happy New Year to you all!
Man how this year has just flown by. It seems like every year goes by faster and faster. Here are some of the highlights from our year.........
~ Jared completed his first year of lineman school. One down three to go. I am so proud of him and his dedication to his studies. He has come a long way to become the person he is today. Some say it was me, but I have to give Jared the credit. Had he not wanted to change his ways he wouldn't have. The boys and I may have just been his incentive.
~ I have grown to the love the Lord! I was baptized in October and can still remember the great feeling that it was. I have made an exceptional friend. She has been there for me through a lot and vice versa. Thanks Andrea! We have also made a new couple friendship, thanks to baseball, Matt and Amy Buford. They have been so much fun to hang out with whether at a baseball game or at home. I am so blessed to have so many friends that we do so much with. We may not have the time to do something as much as we used to but we still consider them all GREAT friends! ANDDDDDD......
my cousin Amanda just found out she is expecting! I can't even tell you how excited I am about that. Matt and Amanda are two of the greatest people I know and I am so excited for them!
~ Braxton enjoyed playing a lot of baseball. His baseball team made it the State All Stars. They didn't take first place, but they had fun! Which means everything. We enjoyed following him to all the new places to play baseball. Braxton has enjoyed hunting all year long. He just recently shot his first Bobcat. He has also killed rabbits, coyotes and deer. Braxton's love for God has blossomed. He started attending Sonlight and going to Church with me some. I am hoping that he grows to love the Lord even more. He broke his arm this year too. This was our first broken bone of all the kids and are hoping it is the last. I know, Dream on! We have watched him mature so much this past year. He is a great brother and all around person. We have enjoyed him so much.
~ Bronson started his first year of baseball. He loved it! He also played soccer, which we all dislike and he loves. He has spent countless hours with his best friend Colby! He has become quite the cowboy. He won little Mr Pioneer at the Queen City fair and got to ride his pony through the parade, with Colby by his side! He is also growing to love the Lord more. He has been attending Sonlight for two years and is crazy about it:) He is growing up way too fast. He will be starting Kindergarten in 2009. I am excited for him but yet sad because my little boy is just growing up! He is a handsome little devil and does not know a stranger!
~ Braylon! He turned two this year and has learned that throwing fits is fun. He has a great stomp and a huge temper. He is talking lots more and STILL sucking his thumb! We had him broke of it for awhile until Santa came. Yes, we used Santa as a threat! He has tagged along to all of the baseball games and he has met a new friend in the process, Logan. They are buddies and if you didn't know better you would think they are twins:) Braylon has just started going to Sonlight too. I am hoping that he will get over his crying fits when I leave him in the nursery. We have had so much fun enjoying him.
So there you have it in a nutshell:) I am sure I have missed a lot.
We are having a big non alcoholic bash at my house tonight! Lots of great friends and LOTS of boys, 8 to be exact:) 12 adults and 8 BOYS! Wow, wish us luck. We are going to make them all stay in the basement. I am going to tell them that they can't come upstairs unless they have to go to the bathroom or unless someone is dead!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! See ya next year on the blogs!

Christmas Recap
Christmas has come and gone and the only thing we have to show for it is lots of new stuff, pictures and memories! I will show you a few of the 100's of pictures I took:) We all had a wonderful Christmas and were truly blessed with everything we got.

Braxton got a AC/DC Cd from Santa (above) and his favorite thing from Santa was his Nerf gun tag game (below).

Braylon's favorite thing~ TIC TACS! Thanks Andrea:)
And from us the boys got a WII! They were super excited and very surprised! It is lots of fun. My arms are sore from playing boxing! And I thought I was in shape.
What our living room looked like after we had opened all of our presents from Santa and from each other! What a mess:) But what great fun.
Braylon and his jeep from Grampsie and Grandma Teresa! He loves it!
Bronson got chaps from Grampsie and Grandma Teresa! He loves them. The first thing he said when he opened them up was, "I need to call Colby!" I made him wait until the next day to call him. The picture is terrible of Bronson but I wanted you to see the front of the chaps. They are awesome! Some lady from Unionville made them!
I just love this picture of Braylon! He is being so patient, waiting for his brothers to open their present so he can open his next one!
Braxont got a huge Mustang GT remote control car from Grandma and Da! He loves it! Can't you tell by the expression on his face?

I love this picture of my grandma's too. They look so good for being in their 80's! What a precious picture that I will cherish forever!

What it looked like after Santa had dropped his presents off.

Santa brought Braylon a tractor with a trailer!
Look at his RED eyes! I need to fix that:)

Onrea (andrea) and her buddy
What a kill!!!
Braxton got this Bobcat yesterday on their way coyote hunting! Jared shot at it and missed and then Braxton shot and nailed it! Braxton didn't rub it in one bit either. They are going to save their money so they can get it "stuffed". What a kill Brax!

PS. Xmas pictures coming soon:) I have 434 of them to go thru and pick out the "perfect" ones.

Game night!
Andrea's post reminded me to post these pictures. I wanted to post them Wed. but I forgot my camera. Anyhow, Tuesday night we played games with the boys. Braxton didn't know what game he wanted to play that the two little guys would be able to play too so after we got done playing Sequence for Kids we decided to just hang out. The boys were playing with those Magniex (sp) things and Braylon kept stealing them from Braxton so Brax tackled Braylon to get one of them and one of them stuck to one of Brax's presents. He jumped up saying "AHHHH, my present is magnectic." Oops:)!!!! So that reminded me that that present was a game so I let them all open one present.
Bronson got a Charades game for kids. We haven't played it yet, but I am sure it will be entertaining:)

And Braylon got binoculars. He LOVED them. I wasn't able to get a good picture with them though! Maybe another day.

So all in all they were all happy with their new presents. I have never really let my kids open presents early. Maybe every now and then, but I am starting to understand why Andrea lets hers. They appreciate them more if they aren't opening them all at once.
Have a safe and happy weekend everyone! Braxton turns 10 on Sunday, so remember to wish him Happy Birthday! He is having 3 friends over tonight. Wish us luck:)
Braxton got the Deal or No Deal game that was in a TIN! We have already played the game several times. It is really fun! He wanted the game and was really excited when he opened it.

1000 words thursday
There is a reason behind the picture I chose to use today. My husband works for a power company along with some of my friends husbands. We are expecting a big ice storm to move in today and last thru early tomorrow morning. They are predicting 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of ice. These guys work LONG HARD HOURS to restore power for you and me. I think they are taken for granted and not given enough praise. There are so many people out there that call in every little whip stitch to complain that they don't have power and what not, but don't stop and think that that is someones husband, daddy, son, grandpa or whatever, out there risking their lives so YOU can have electricity. So please remember them in your prayers today/tonight. And please remember if YOUR electricity is out don't complain. They are working as hard as they can under the circumstances:)

STAY SAFE GUYS, WE APPRECIATE YOU!

AMEN!!!!!
JOB - URINE TEST(Whoever wrote this should be a candidate!) Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
Guess we could title that program: 'Urine or You're Out'.
Yah and we even suppy them with clean syringes

Dear Santa.....
just a little something to brighten the day for all you moms out there
Dear Santa,
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, and sold two hundred-two cases of cookies to raise money to take the girls in our Girl Scout troop on a trip. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.
Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have), and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store. I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big ticket items this year, I'd like fingerprint-resistant windows, and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone. On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, 'Yes, Mommy!'. To boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight, and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools. I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting, 'Don't eat in the living room,' and 'Take your hands off your brother,' because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog. If it's too late to find any of these products,I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container. If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family. Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table, but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours Always,
MOM...
P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa?
*** thanks amy for the cute email.

The Flu has hit
Jared had/has the flu! He is really thrilled about it. Then my secretary calls in today with it. Seems her family has had the rounds of it too. YUCK! I hope everyone gets to feeling better and stays away from me. Lysol has been flying at my house. Knowing my luck I will get it right on Christmas! That is my favorite holiday so I hope not.
Pray that I don't and the boys don't!

i got home from curves this morning and laurie went to drop me off i noticed that the dryer was going. jared had noticed that i had put a load in the washer and he put them in the dryer without having to be told AND he put a roast in the crockpot without having to be asked. GO JARED!!!!!!!!! and what do you guys think he is wanting???
he called me as soon as i got in the house and i answered by saying Thank You. he said for what. i said putting the clothes in the dryer and as i was talking and walking i noticed the crock pot so i thanked him for that too and he said "someones gotta do it". then he hung up. he was just calling to see if i had noticed and he was needing a great big pat on the back. wish i would get one for everytime i do something!
also, i got a new mouse for my computer at work! WOO HOO! and it is cordless.

Emotional Night
i don't even know where to begin........
last night was a very emotional night for me. i am an emotional person anyway but last night was more so!
let me remind you of a couple of things before i begin.
1) jared has a very hard time with "GOD". he wasn't brought up around it and he still doesn't really believe.
2) braxton and i have had a few rocky years. i think alot of it is that i am jealous. him and i were by ourselves for 4 1/2 years while jared worked out of town during the week. so we had lots of bonding time. then jared started working at home (which i am grateful for) and braxton has since started spending more time with him (which i am grateful for)! but i also think i am jealous of their relationship b/c i lost that! which brings tear to my eyes as i type!
so here is the story that i just prepared you for.
last night i had the boys watch Miracle on 34th Street. i loved this movie when i was about braxton's age and was reminded of the movie yesterday at church. braxton loved the movie! when we were headed to bed i was folding laundry and jared went in to tell braxton good night. i heard braxton ask his dad if he believed in God. i heard jared say "do you?". of course braxton's reply was yes. i never did hear what jared said or anymore of there convo. so when i went in to tell braxton good night i just asked him what he said to his dad. he told me the same thing i heard but that jared said he did believe. which this is the first time i have ever even heard him say this! praise God! anyhow, braxton started crying. i said braxton you know i really like for you to go to church with me on sunday's. and this is what he told me thru his crying and this is what started my tears that never stopped!
mommy the reason i don't go with you to church is because i know i am going to see you againg someday, because i know you are going to heaven. i spend all my time with daddy now because i won't see him again because he doesn't believe and has never been baptized.
WOW! what do you say to that? it was all put into perspectative for me as to why he wants to spend so much time with his dad. i would have never in a million years thought that!
i gave braxton some time to think while i brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. i just couldn't stop the tears though. jared seen this and asked me why i was crying. i explained it to him. so he went in to talk to braxton. at first they just layed there and jared just held him. i thought to myself that i just needed to leave b/c this was THEIR time that they needed. i went to bed, crying! braxton came in there later to do something so i asked him how their talk was going. he told me that daddy told him that he did believe. but braxton said "i don't know if he really does or if he is just telling me that to make me happy and not sad". i said well brax you just need to tell him that just like you told me. "but mommy it is to hard to tell him" was his reply. i talked to him a little more and explained to him that he just needs to talk to his dad about everything!
so there you have it! it took me over an hour to go to sleep just thinking about everything. i would pray, then cry, pray, then cry.
i know God has His plan in all of this. i have prayed that jared would see thru his kids' eyes about God. and so maybe this is Gods plan after all. so please pray for jared! pray that he will start seeing the light and hopefully start attending church with all of us. and please also pray for braxton. as this is very hard for him. i cried so hard last night just thinking about how much we butt heads and how all along this is why! i seen it as he just didn't want to spend time with me b/c he liked his dad more. and that was so off course! i thought to myself- i don't deserve a wonderful kid like this! but I do, I made him that way! what a sweet, wonderful little boy we have raised.
so as i end, crying! please pray for me too:)
loves to all of you!

mommy the reason i don't go with you to church is because i know i am going to see you againg someday, because i know you are going to heaven. i spend all my time with daddy now because i won't see him again because he doesn't believe and has never been baptized.
WOW! what do you say to that? it was all put into perspectative for me as to why he wants to spend so much time with his dad. i would have never in a million years thought that!
i gave braxton some time to think while i brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. i just couldn't stop the tears though. jared seen this and asked me why i was crying. i explained it to him. so he went in to talk to braxton. at first they just layed there and jared just held him. i thought to myself that i just needed to leave b/c this was THEIR time that they needed. i went to bed, crying! braxton came in there later to do something so i asked him how their talk was going. he told me that daddy told him that he did believe. but braxton said "i don't know if he really does or if he is just telling me that to make me happy and not sad". i said well brax you just need to tell him that just like you told me.

THE PACT WAS BROKEN
Bear with me guys! I have lots to say today and each one deserves its own post!
Last night my cell phone rang while we were on our way to eat at Bogies with Stikie and Tiffany. It was Colby wanting to talk to Bronson. He had heard thru his mom that Bronson had been kissin' girls. And if you guys remember right they had made a pact awhile back that they weren't going to kiss girls or get married. If you don't remember this go to Andrea's blog and watch the videos.
Colby said to Bronson, "I thought we weren't gonna kiss girls!" Bronson, "I FORGOT!" yeah right!
It was so funny to hear theses little guys' convo. Hopefully Colby can whip Bronson into shape, because for some reason I can't!
PS if you think this in my one and only post for the day, scroll down and check out my other THREE! i think i am done now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Joy of Giving
This year I talked to the boys about how some families don't have enough money to buy their kids presents for Christmas. I asked them if they would like to adopt a child for Christmas to buy presents for. They were very excited about it. Bronson wanted to know if they were going to come live with us for Christmas. So I took the boys a couple of weeks ago to pick out the child they wanted to buy for. Braxton got a 9 year old boy, Bronson got a 6 year old boy and Braylon got a 2 year old boy. We went shopping Tuesday night and the boys picked out what they wanted to get the child they adopted. So here are the pictures of the boys with their presents for the child they picked out.

I am so proud of them! After they picked out the child they wanted. They asked me if they could spend THEIR own money on the presents. I was so happy that they would want to do that! I let them spend their own money b/c I figured it would really and truely make them understand what they were doing. I hadn't even thought of them spending their own money. I was just going to spend our money on them, but for my kids to really think outside that box and want to spend their money made me realize that I am raising my kids right (most of the time, *cough cough*, previous post!). I am hoping we will keep this tradition up every year! So here is to great, thoughtful kids!!!!

oh, what to do?
i learned today that my middle child has been tongue kissin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i called him and asked him if he had been tongue kissin' and he said NO! i said i heard you were tongue kissin' "A" and he just broke down in tears. so there was my answer! i know kids will be kids but he will have a big talkin to. jared said don't you remember doing that when you were a kid. and i said "as a matter of fact, i do!" i was little and tongue kissed my babysitters son under the pool table. who would have thought my son would be doing the same thing. needless to say we will be having a big discussion tonight at my house.
oh, the joys of boys! and my days are just starting!

1000 words Thursday
Can't you just see how ornery he is? It is just spilling out of him. Last night he come waltzing out of my bathroom with these 2 q-tips sticking out of his ears. He thought he was pretty funny. Then he hammed it up when I got the camera out. Gotta love em.

mice
have you ever had trouble with a mouse?
well i am today! but not the mouse you are thinking about. it is my computer mouse. it was kind of not working yesterday and i was going to get a new one last night and forgot! today it will work then not work. do you know how frustrating it is to try and work with a mouse not working? let me tell you.....
it takes 15 minutes to get the pointer to where you want it.
you do your thing (probably about 5 minutes)
it takes another 15 minutes to get your pointer to save your article.
it takes another 15 minutes to get the pointer to point on the X to close the stinkin' thing.
so how am i suppose to get any work done? you got it, don't do any!!!!!
and i know you are thinking, 'wow, she got her blog in for the day though". and that is where you are wrong.... i got TWO in:)
so just remember how long it took me to get this ONE post done. YEP, 15 minutes to get it opened, 15 minutes to click on sign in, 15 minutes to click on new post, 5 minutes to type my post and probably another 15 minutes to click on publish post. a WHOPPING 1 hour and 5 minutes, just to blog! whew... what hard work goes into blogging:)
ok, maybe i am exaggerating a little....
anyhow, i am going to get myself a mouse without a tail real soon so I can lots more done in one day than i did today!

wonderful husbands!
jared got into reading blogs the other night when we were at the fredericks. he said "how come you never blog anything nice about me?" so here it goes girlies (and guys).....................
where do i start?
hmmmm?
ummmmmm?
what to say.......
oh yeah,
he is an absolutely wonderful dad! he is great to help get them up and out the door. he has to do this by himself 3 times a week. he is probably better at it than me. he takes them hunting with him all the time. plays games with them. lets them play with their toys wherever they want to, whether he steps on a thousand little hot wheels or stubs his toe on a tractor.
he helps me cook. he can cook the best fried taters!
he will eat anything i make and not complain about it. except for that one time when i tried making gravy for the first time, but the dogs wouldn't even eat it so, i can't be mad at him for that one:)
he is a very hard worker! sometimes this drives me really crazy because i just want to lay around and be lazy and he thinks i need to get up and help him. ughhhhh!
he CAN be romantic, but not very often. the two times that really stick out in my head are: on our anniversary one year i went into the bathroom and he had taken shaving cream and wrote 'Happy Anniversary Babe' on the bathroom mirror. he never remembers birthdays or even an anniversary so this was a very big sweet surprise for me. the other one is on thanksgiving night we played the newlywed game. one of the questions was about your husbands romance. my answer to that was "he doesn't know how to romance". he answered that one correctly and we got ourselves 20 points. he made it home before me that night and when i walked into our bedroom he had candles lit and everything ready! what a sweet man. so see he can be romantic if he wants to be.
i think that is it for now. i do have a great man and i do take him for granted a lot of the time. and don't you tell him i said that:)

The Florida Clan
I told my sister in law, Jane Ann, that I would post all the GOOD pictures that I have from when they were here. I wish I had some of the pictures that my Aunt Connie took from when we played the Newlywed game on Thanksgiving night. The pictures are a hoot!!! So here are the pictures that I have of my brother, Mike, and his family. It was great to have them back. I really miss having them close by. Hopefully we will be able to go to Florida sometime soon!
L TO R: Kyle, Jane Ann, Mike and Gabrielle
tis the season
This is a picture of "my" tree. I love it! Every year I think I am going to buy different ornaments and change my tree and then I never do. Once I get it up I love it just as much as I did the year before.

where did the weekend go?
i don't think i sat down once and enjoyed 5 minutes to myself in the last 4 days. we ran here and there and had lots of fun doing it. i got to see my brother and his family. that was great! i have lots of good pics to share but i do not have my camera with me to download the pics. so stay tuned.
i have my trees up (pics coming soon), 10 presents wrapped and bunches more to go. my house needs cleaned, groceries need to be bought and a few more presents to buy. so i am doing good in that dept.
i am having a home and garden party (would love to have everyone there) on friday. there will be lots of food and fun. if you want to come but don't have the money to buy anything, that is fine by me. i understand the hard times. i thought maybe having it closer to xmas some people may be looking to buy xmas presents but on the other hand thought since it was so close to xmas that some may not have the extra cash to buy something "they" want! so, trust me i understand if you can't buy anything!
time to go home! have a great night.
