Braylon

we are home and braylon is doing good. he is a little ouchy but still doing pretty good considering!

he was not a happy camper when they took him back, even after the loopy medicine they gave him.

he was only in surgery for 30 minutes.

when he came back to the room after recovery a girl from lancaster was carrying him. it is sooo great to know that somebody that knows you and your child was the one taking care of your kiddo. it just made me think that they took "extra" good care of him b/c they knew us. so thanks stephanie.

he was not a happy camper when he got back to the room. he coughed, hacked, cried and carried on. he did drink one and a half cups of water and ate a popsicle within 30 minutes of coming out of recovery. he then calmed down and took a nap. it was great to have my mom and amy buford there to help me. especiallly when he decided to throw up!

anyhow, we are home. very tired and we are hoping the night goes well! i took some pictures of him today so i will post them tomorrow. i know, i know, taking pictures of my kids getting ready for surgery!

and thank you to andrea for updating everyone on how it went.

Cheaper Than Therapy
Baseball is in full swing! This is from this past weekend. Braxton did a great job pitching! I love the second picture where you can see him, the ball coming in and the bat getting ready to "TRY" and hit it:)

When Braxton looked at this picture he said, "can't you see that is a two seamer?" i said, uhhhh, no, how can you tell that! so he pointed it out to me. check out the ball... and see the way the seams are. my 10 year old teaching me about pitching!

i am crying me a river

thank you to everyone that commented on my last post.

roxanne and andrea hit the nail on the head!!!!

we are busy, we don't spend the quality time with him like we do/have with the other two, we don't drop whatever it is we are mad at him about and on and on and on.....

i read those two comments and i cried and cried some more.

i IM andrea and talked a little more with her.

i needed to hear what they said. it isn't something a parent likes to hear, but needs to hear. it didn't make me mad at all, if anything it made me grateful to have such good friends that point out the problem whether it will hurt the other person or not. it didn't hurt me that they pointed out the obvious, what hurts is that i didn't see it!

so starting today i am going to take andrea's advice and sit down with jared and talk this out with him and hopefully we can start a new plan. instead of us blaming the other we will hopefully start working with each other and come up with a new plan. it is going to take some sacrifices on our end but if that is what it is going to take, then i am all for it.

i got this email this morning too. of all the days that i would get and email like this, today was the day i needed it. i think God was talking to me too.....

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together..
*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.
*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.
*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.
*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. *Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.
*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.
*I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.
*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day.............

parenting

Oh what to do, what to do.......

braylon has been acting SOOOO bad lately.

not sure if he is trying to get attention or if he just plain doesn't care.

he back talks, i spank him, he talks back again, i spank, smack, do time out, take awy stuff. NOTHING works. well, nothing that i have found anyhow.

yesterday he hit a little girl in the privates. not once, but twice AND hit a baby in the face.

when i tried to talk to him about it he would turn his head. i would grab ahold of his face and make him look right at me and he would close his eyes or look out of the corner of his eyes the other direction.

i was afraid to spank him b/c i thought once i started i might not stop!

so yesterday he was at my gma's and i told bronson to call me if he was being bad. which he did! so this was our conversation...

me: if you don't be good i am going to come over there and spank you
b: SILENCE
me: did you hear me
b: SILENCE
me: ok, i am going to come over there right now and spank you
b: huh, what did you say?
me: you heard me
b: no i didn't, tell me again

oh i just wanted to go thru that phone and strangle him.

so, i tell jared about it last night and braylon crawls under the recliner so jared couldn't see him.

his punishment, you ask? he couldn't go to my gma's today. i went to pick up bronson and take him over there and boy was braylon mad! TOUGH!!!! we will see how he acts today and tomorrow.

i am thinking lockdown is in the near future.....

rally!

we are home, safe and sound! it was a great weekend despite the cold, rainy weather. we lost all of our games, but the kids had fun and played ball, so that is all that matters. their 3rd game they were behind by a bunch, so the kids turned their hats inside out to help with their luck rallying. so their #1 fan did too, my dad!

we play again this sat in laplata. if you would like to come and watch let me know and i will give you the times.

ALL THE EXCITEMENT WE HAD THIS WEEKEND:
* braylon about drown in the hot tub. jared went in after him with his clothes on.
* braylon got lost at the ball fields. was wondering around in the parking lot looking for his mom. guess whose responsiblity he was..... JAREDS! jared had not even realized he wasn't with him. thank goodness the person that found him was with our team.
* was the 2nd car to come up on a wreck. A BAD one! the girl had flown over the overpass and had landed underneath the overpass on the other road. i went up to offer help before the emergency crews got there. not a sight i want to see ever again. i can't help but wonder how she is
* the hotel service was terrible! i asked for extra towels and the guy told me they were out. i said how can you be out of towels. he proceeded to tell me that he could give me some hand towels and wash cloths. and i told him " like i can really dry off with one of those!"
* we bbq'd in the parking lot of the hotel. that was fun!
* watched 2 games in the rain! i can't wait to show you the pictures. DEDICATION!!!
* did several loads of laundry when we got home
* scrubbed white pants till i was blue in the face. not quite sure whose bright idea it was to wear white pants, especially when they are playing in the rain and sliding in mud puddles. BUT boy did they ever look sharp on the field in their uniforms!

i will post more pictures later! hope you had a great wknd!

He is feeling left out

Matt is feeling left out. He thinks I don't talk about him enough on here. Sunday we had Easter at my Grandma Lorene's and my boys wouldn't leave Matt alone. They think that he is the coolest person alive! Here is a picture of him and Bronson egg hunting! I LOVE THIS PICTURE! you can truly see how much they love each other.

Sunday was also Amanda's birthday! One more year and she will be the big 3-0! Bronson loves her too. I made her a birthday cake and put 29 candles on it. Bronson and Taiya helped her blow them out. Then Bronson turned and gave Amanda a big hug. So I had them pose for me! Happy Birthday Amanda!

bronson's clothes do not match today. he has on blue wind pants with a red stripe down the side, an orange shirt and a red shirt underneath it.

i told him that his clothes didn't match and he said i have a red shirt on under this one. i said but orange doesn't match red.

and he said, "yes it does in a rainbow."

he got me there!

wanna know what i love about my job?

that i know the election results FIRST!!!!!

long day

today is going to be a long day.

i am anxious to see how the voters vote on the school board members and on their proposition!

Cheaper Than Therapy

This is a picture of my cousin Amanda's baby. They had their first Ultra Sound yesterday and were amazed by what they got to see. I just LOVE this picture. It has such great detail in it and it just shows how amazing God is. My cousin and I are only 1 year apart and grew up more like sisters than cousins. I am so happy for her and Matt and can't wait for this new little bundle of joy to arrive in August! oh yeah, IT'S A ??????, they didn't want to find out what the sex was! WOO HOO, I love it when people don't find out, it is so much more fun!

let it go

and that i can't!

i am a very outspoken person and everyone knows that. i stand up for what i think is right and if you don't agree with me, well then that is your right. if everyone agreed on every issue, what fun would that be?

i am supporting the school tax levy increase. i have had numerous conversations with others on this issue, some for and some against.

i have many reasons of why i support them:

* i have 3 kids that will be going through that school system
* i have friends and family that work there
* i want my kids to have the best education they can get
* it is our only school disrict in our county and i don't want to lose that
* and more.....

i don't want my taxes to go up. i don't want to have to try and save more money, but i do want the school district to keep afloat. i know that it is going to be really tough for some to pay more money, and i hate that, but at the same time i have to think about my kids and their future. if i don't stand up and speak for my kids, then who will? and if i didn't at least try, what kind of parent would i be?

i have heard several people make comments like:

1) i don't have any kids/grandkids in the school so why should i support them?

2) i homeschool or i send my kids to a private school so what do i get out of paying more taxes to a school i don't send my kid to?

well i have several different opinions to this.

to number 1) you might not have kids or grandkids in the system but who paid for you when you went to school?

to number 2) i understand you, but on the other hand you pay taxes to the library, senior services center, the health dept, the nursing home and etc. do you use all of those facilities? some of you might but most of you don't use all of them. what if we didn't pay taxes to or support the nursing home? how would they manage to take care of our grandparents or us someday? what if we didn't pay taxes to the library? how would some of those kids or adults get to read books b/c they are not able to afford to buy their own? the same goes for the school system. you may not utilize it but you do know of someone that does. don't you want the best for them? what if you had to get a job and you weren't able to homeschool or if you couldn't afford a private school and you had to send your child to the public school, would you support them then b/c your child was in it? yes you would b/c you would want the best for them! the only way these entities are going to make it is if we stand up and help them out!

and last but not least.....

how do you think the teachers, dr.'s, pharmacists, mechanics, cpa's and etc got to where they are at today? they did it through schooling! whether it was through a public school, private school or homeschooling!

you would not be where you are at today if it wasn't for education and teachers!
