I got a text yesterday from the school nurse saying "bronson just lost his tooth. he is so excited!". i was so happy for him, but on the other hand i was a little jealous because i wanted to be there when he lost his first tooth.
when i picked him up from school he had a little necklace around his neck with a plastic tooth hanging on it and in that little tooth box, was his tooth! he said "mommy, it didn't even hurt. mrs. jackson just pulled it right out!"
so he got his tooth put in his tooth box at home and got it ready for the tooth fairy, after he dumped the box and lost his tooth for about 5 minutes! that was fun! it was like looking for a needle in a haystack!
this morning he woke up and started eating breakfast and didn't even say anything about his tooth. i said "bronson did the tooth fairy come last night?" he said, i forgot to look!
lo and behold the tooth fairy did come. she brought him a dollar bill, 4 quarters and a letter!
he was excited!
this is what the letter said:
GOOD MORNING BRONSON,
LAST NIGHT WHILE YOU WERE FAST ASLEEP, I QUIETLY ENTERED YOUR ROOM, LOOKED UNDER YOUR PILLOW AND FOUND SOMETHING. SOMEONE IN LANCASTER TOLD ME YOU HAD RECENTLY LOST A TOOTH AND THEY WERE RIGHT! WHAT A FINE TOOTH IT WAS TOO. NOT MANY BOYS IN MISSOURI HAVE SUCH FINE TEETH. IT WILL SURELY BE ONE OF THE BEST IN MY COLLECTION.
NOT ALL BOYS AND GIRLS IN LANCASTER GET A LETTER FROM ME, BUT SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU, AND I THINK YOU KNOW WHO I MEAN, SAID THAT YOU MIGHT REALLY ENJOY A NOTE FROM THE REAL TOOTH FAIRY.
LOSING A TOOTH IS A SPECIAL TIME FOR A YOUNG PERSON LIKE YOU BRONSON. IT MEANS YOU ARE GROWING UP AND SOON WILL HAVE NEW ADVENTURES IN FRONT OF YOU.
PART OF GROWING UP MEANS TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOUR TEETH. THAT MEANS BRUSHING EVERY DAY AND EATING THE RIGHT FOODS. IN APPRECIATION FOR LEAVING ME SUCH A FINE TOOTH, I HAVE LEFT YOU A SPECIAL SOMETHING TOO! I HOPE YOU HAVE FAIRY NICE DAY TODAY!
YOUR SECRET FRIEND,
THE TOOTH FAIRY
when i read the letter to him, he wanted to know who told the tooth fairy he would want a letter! i just ignored him and went right on reading:)
A few weeks ago Braxton's baseball team had a fundraiser in Memphis. On our way over there Braylon fell asleep. Well we didn't want to leave him in the car with the windows down for fear of getting turned in! and we had lots of stuff to do so Jared just unbuckled the car seat and set it out by our tent. He slept there for over an hour, even through all the commotion. If you know Braylon well enough you know not to wake him up! He is an absolute bear and doesn't corporate to well.
Wednesday we took Bronson to the allergy doctor to find out what he is allergic to. The poor kid has a lot of allergies. The doctor said he had an adult size reaction to the test and his highly allergic to several things. He is allergic to all weeds, grasses, cock roaches, dust mites, house dust and cats. He seems to think that he will develop more allergies as he gets older. He said since Bronson had so many lung problems when he was younger and now having so many allergies that he is a prime candidate for asthma. He thinks keeping him on 3 different allergy medicines a day and starting shots next week will help him tremendously and will hopefully keep him from getting asthma.
Bronson was such a trooper! He laid there like a big boy and let them do the testing and then he wiggled and squirmed for 15 minutes b/c it was itching so bad. But if your back looked like his did you would have been very uncomfortable too.
Tomorrow is Braxton's first football game. Well it is actually a jamboree. He is so excited that he can't hardly wait. Last night he kept asking me, does this look good under my jersey? how about this one? what do you think I should wear under it?
So this morning when we were getting ready to leave I just looke at him and just couldn't believe how grown up he is. He is getting so big too fast. Before I know it he will be playing high school football and then graduating.
So good luck to the boys tomorrow in their jamboree!
Tonight I was going thru Braxton's papers from school and I came across a story he wrote about my dad. It just made me so proud of him and of my dad. They are as close as two people can get. Braxton started calling my dad, Da, when he was little and it has stuck. So I just wanted to share what he wrote about him.
My grandparent is Da and he's pretty cool. He is about 5 foot 10 inches. Da has white hair, it is as white as snow, and it is about average length. He wears silver glasses but not very often. Da usually always has a smile on him. He is always happy. He is pretty stout, about as stout as a wall. His skin is kind of tough, but not quite as tough as leather, and has a little hair. He wears jeanshorts or jeans and usually a short sleve shirt. My grandpa is pretty handsome.
Then this is what he wrote on another paper:
Opening sentence: My grandpa Da is very kind to me and my brothers.
1. Interesting: ex. he wrote a song
2. funny: ex. because when you are unhappy he cheers you up.
3. caring: ex. he takes you places and helps you with your problems.
Closing sentence: That is why I think my grandpa is funny interesting, funny, and caring.
I just couldn't help but smile and get a little teary eyed when I read those. What a sweet little boy he is and what a great dad I have and what a great DA that the boys have. I am so glad that they will have so many special memories of him someday.
p.s i typed the story just like he had wrote it. punctuation marks and spellings.
I have 3 wonderful boys and have been married for 11 years! God gave me 3 boys for a reason! He knew I wouldn't be able to handle all the drama that girls have:) When I need a girl fix, I just hang out with some of my friends little girls.
